Crafty v22.0.rj1 is a modified Crafty v22.0: implemented EL of AEL pruning as suggested in Ernst A Heinz, Scalable Search in Computer Chess, fine tuning of chess knowledge and a change in quiescent search. The changes between Crafty v20.12.rj7 and v22.0.rj1 are: based on improved Crafty v22.0, a change in quiescent search, ability to use Strelka 2.0 material tables, a radical approach to fine tuning of chess knowledge, tuning of the opening book (fine tuned start.pgn, bookc.bin is a copy of books.bin). Fine tuning of chess knowledge is an ongoing process and will take months (current test case result, test summary). Crafty is expected to search over 10 million positions per second (only 20 times slower than Deep Blue). Crafty will use opening book, built from Hyatt's and Corbit's joint game database (containing over 2 million games), with 342,768 unique positions (book.bin 5.47 MB). Crafty will use all 3-, 4- and 5-piece endgame Nalimov tablebases (7.05 GB). Crafty will use 3,072 MB for the transposition/ refutation hash table and 512 MB for the pawn structure/ king safety hash table (hash=3072M, hashp=512M, cache=8M).
